The Analysis on Student's Ability In Using Simple Paste In Writing Narrative Text At SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang

Abstrak
The purpose of this study is to describe the students’ability on the use of
simple past tense in Narrartive Text. The research is motivated due to the
students’ difficulties in using past tense in writing Narrative. Text. This is a
Descriptive research. The subject of study was X IPS in SMA Muhammadiyah
Bangkinang. The finding showed that the researcher found the students writing
skill in five levels : Excellent, good, fairly good, weak, and poor level. There were
6 or 30% students in Fairly good level, 9 or 55% students in Weak level, and 1 or
15% students in Poor level. This problem influenced by students’ difficulties
understand simple past because they do not know the meaning and differences
between regular verb and irregular verb.
